Biblical School List

In one corner of my dining room, there is a pile of glue sticks, pencils, and loose leaf paper that is so high, it seems to be supporting that side of the ceiling. My kids have lovingly examined each new thing, oohing and aahing over long, unsharpened pencils and fresh glue sticks that don't have hairs in them yet. They have each repacked their backpacks a hundred times and put their initials on each tiny item. Two little girls seem very ready for school and their mother is quite excited, too!

School starts for many of our children and grandchildren next week and the following week. We've got the pile of school supplies, new tennis shoes, and lunch boxes. "Have we forgotten anything," we ask, as we mark off our school supply lists? This year, take time to review your Biblical school list. Below is a quick review.....

1 large dose of daily prayer done by Godly moms, dads, grandparents, and teachers
3 reminders a week that God has a special plan for your child
1 Christian cd filled with up-beat praises to our Father (bus riders need to sing aloud)
5 prayers before you eat lunch in the cafeteria (Don't be afraid to bow that head)
Big box of tissues for all the tears caused by mean words, jealousy, and being left out!
Scripture band-aids to help heal those "world crashing" problems (get the water proof)
2 Small bibles (one to keep in backpack, one to give to a friend who doesn't have one)
1 pair of super tennis shoes that can run very fast from evil
1 very strong belt of truth buckle, breastplate of righteousness, helmet of salvation, and sword of truth which can be found at Ephesians 6:8-10.

Pray daily, friends. Whether you are home, public, or christian schooling your children...God has a great plan for their lives and will offer daily protection.

My Mission Monday

What is your mission for today...for this week? This week's mission challenge is to simply mention God's name in other people's presence. Give HIM the glory for all things. Look at it as random seed planting. I have always wished I had a big meadow and I could sprinkle tons of Bluebell seeds everywhere. Wouldn't a harvest of Bluebells next season be the most lovely sight! In the grocery, at your workplace, in the library...greet others and make God your small talk. Plant some wildflowers!

Monday's Missionary Focus-pray each day this week for SUSAN BOWERS

Sharing Jesus while Meeting Needs
colombia map

Her biggest fear was moving her family to become missionaries in Colombia, South America. God, in His goodness, confirmed to Susan Bowers that He did want them to live and minister there and continues to protect their family.

When a young man came to town looking for Christians to help his people with the problem of alcoholism—a major issue with indigenous groups all over the world—God led Susan to start a much needed ministry.

As she began researching the problem, God led her to the Celebrate Recovery program, using eight Christian principles. She and their team paired the steps with Chronological Bible Storying, reaching Colombian people with the good news of God’s love.
They bring small groups to Bogota, their hometown; get to know the people and their needs; train them in the program; and share the gospel at the same time. The people take the training back to their villages, teaching what they’ve learned.
One young man attended the workshop saying, “This is what I want. I am tired of my old ways. I want a new life.” He prayed, received the Lord, and returned to his community a changed man. He now shares Christ through a Christian soccer club he started.
Please pray God provides 10 “I” and 10 “C” believers through the alcoholism workshops. With this base, a church could begin and spread through these 2 people groups.

Friday Fabulous Faith and Fun!

Do You Thirst?
Chu drinking soda by Savage Hippie Girl

There is nothing like a free re-fill. Free re-fills mean one thing in our family...you must sprint cup-in-hand to the drink fountains to refill on sugary goodness right before you head out to the car. Chances are we aren't even thirsty, but we just ain't passin' up a deal! Plus, we might get thirsty later. Today, I am offering mommy/wife wisdom to all....97 degrees with a 105 heat index requires a lots of hydration. Many a mommy will send out Popsicles and water melon to the sweaty, dirty masses. Golfing husbands will be sent out with water bottles in hand (despite their whining of " I can get some out at the course, if I need it") and those who choose to exercise, I not being one , will probably grab the largest bottle of Gatorade at the local gas station before heading to the gym to sweat indoors for a mere monthly fee.

Much is prescribed for a healthy, hydrated Western Kentucky day. Do you hydrate your thirsty soul in the same concerned fashion? JOHN chapter 4 tells the well-known story of a Samaritan woman who has come to the well for water. She may have had tons of laundry that day (most likely) and she needed that water to cook, clean, and hydrate herself. Scripture tells us that this woman came to the well in the sixth hour (probably around noon), the hot, middle eastern sun already beating down with rays of hot fire. Her cool breeze was felt in the presence of a visitor who needed a drink from the well. Jesus utters this precious response to her Samaritan insecurities...

John 4:10: "You do not know the gift of God. You do not know who asks you for water. If you did, you could ask me. I would give you living water."

Jesus goes on to offer her an ever-lasting solution.

John 13-14: Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again. but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."

When you head out the door, do you run cup-in-hand for a refill? Maybe your aren't thirsty. You might be later. Maybe you just think it tastes very refreshing. There is no limit for you. No mom saying, "That is enough soda for one day, young lady!" Fill your thirst....the fountain offers so much to rehydrate you....Bible study, prayer, fellowship with sisters/brothers in Christ....It's free...It's all for you! Resplendent Day!

10 Fourth of July Bible Verses About Freedom

fireworks animation for on white backgroundsWaving USA FLag

2 Corinthians 3:17

Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Romans 8:21

that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

John 8:32

...and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Galatians 5:1

It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.

Luke 4:18-19

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are downtrodden, To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord."

Galatians 5:13

For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

1 Peter 2:13-17

Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right. For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men. Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God. Honor all men; love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king.

Romans 6:18

...and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.

Romans 6:22

But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.

Psalm 119:45

And I will walk at liberty, For I seek Thy precepts.
